Beads and Mermaids

I've found a new obsession with beaded knitting. As if knitting wasn't magic enough, add some sparkly beads in and *swish and flick*! pure magic. I have a few different knitting projects going at the moment, one is a super squishy cardigan which is too hard to show right now because it's in the process of getting pockets and it's a rather jumbled mess of different colored yarns and needles. Another project is top secret because it's going to be a new pattern, hopefully soon!

But what I can show you...I am working on a shawl from The Unofficial Harry Potter Knits called Mermaid's Song. It is so pretty! I'm loving it. I'm using mint pearl beads for the beaded parts. It's really fun! And beads...obsessed.

There are so many patterns in this magazine I can't wait to make! I already have yarn for Ginny's Cardigan and Hermione's Time-Turner Mitts! Must knit faster!!

Cherry Dress

I spent the afternoon designing and sewing this dress. I'm so excited about it! Isn't it the perfect dress to wear for a Summer picnic? I added it to the shop this evening. I already have another dress in mind in different fabric.
How was your Saturday?

Having Some Fun

I can't believe it has been over a year since I've posted on here! Life has been busy! Including a couple of moves, one of which was across the country! It's nice to finally be settling down!
Lately I haven't had time for costumes and honestly haven't felt that interested in sewing something that takes so much time. So just this past month I somehow fell into a new love with making American Girl doll clothes! It's seriously so fun and the best part is, they are small so you can finish an outfit or two in a day! I have so many ideas in my mind I can't stop sewing! I've reopened my Etsy shop with some cute doll clothes and I plan on adding more! I hope to add some historical clothes soon as well but for now I've been having tons of fun with modern things.

I made little leggings and they just kill me! I want some for myself! I'm seriously tempted to go buy more fabric and make myself a pair of these.

 I made some little skirts...

Pajama pants with matching pillowcases (pillow included) for sleepovers!

And wee little necklaces! I love how small and delicate these are! (and they actually fit my wrist as a bracelet as well! So if you don't have a doll but want one of these around your wrist...there you go!)

I plan on adding more things as soon as I sew them. Check out my shop and see if there's anything your doll needs! Treat her to something special!
I hope you are all having a lovely Spring!

Disclaimer:

Although I continually talk about movie costumes on this blog, I am not a movie reviewer. Not all the films I discuss are recommended and I do not choose to review weather they are appropriate or not for the simple fact that every person's standards are different. Something that is fine for me may be offensive to some one else and visa versa. If you would like to look into the appropriateness of a title, I recommend pluggedinonline.com. I have not seen all the movies I discuss, and am simply interested in the art of clothes in film. I will leave you to decide for yourself if you will watch the movie or not.
